We understand that handling disciplinary cases and grievances is very stressful and time-consuming. When staff take out grievance procedures this is very upsetting for all concerned. You will be worried about breaking the law or being taken to an employment tribunal. You may need somebody to do an independent disciplinary investigation or come in to investigate a complaint that an employee has made under the grievance procedure. We also investigate allegations of bullying, harassment and discrimination.
We can help you at every stage of the process:
- Advise whether you should make a disciplinary suspension
- Write on your behalf to staff who are suspended from work
- Conduct disciplinary or grievance investigations for you
- Help you write disciplinary and grievance investigation reports
- Attend discipinary, grievance and appeal hearings to advise
- Attend discipinary, grievance and appeal hearings to minute
- Advise on whether dismissal is appropriate
- Draft disciplinary and grievance letters and decisions
- Dismissal during probationary periods
- Gross misconduct dismissals
Our highly trained and sensitive staff will work with you to help you bring disciplinary and grievance procedures to a suitable resolution. We will investigate throughly and provide comprehensive reports into allegations of bullying, harassment and discrimination. We are not highly prescriptive in our advice; we give you choices and let you know the risks.
Sometimes issues can be resolved – particularly in grievance situations – through mediation. We have several certified mediators in our team.
Unfortunately, sometimes it is necessary to dismiss people and we will help you do this in a way that is fair.
We will help you avoid those mistakes that are easy to make but can be disastrous in an Employment Tribunal.
