Recruiting and managing volunteers and agency workers
If your organisation works with volunteers or agency workers, you may need support in understanding the rights of volunteers and your responsibilities to them. You will also want to ensure you have all the practical tools and resources to manage them effectively without compromising your position in terms of their employment status.
We can train your managers and staff to get the best from non employed workers through appropriate and empowering ways of managing and supervising their work. This includes:
- Advice on sourcing, recruiting and selecting the right people
- Best practice in the organisation and design of placements
- Carrying out risk assessments
- Training for staff in managing and supervising
- Helpline support on specific worker issues
- Volunteer resource pack, including Volunteer Policy, Volunteer Procedures and Volunteer Agreements
- Understanding the law in relation to volunteers and agency workers
- Dealing with difficult behaviour or under performance in relation to non employed workers
- Dismissing non employed workers
- Avoiding creating an employment relationship with non employed workers
