Empowering Leadership
Great leadership leads to high employee engagement which in turn leads to enhanced customer and client satisfaction and maximum productivity. No wonder ‘better leadership’ is a commonly shared aspiration for organisations in all sectors.
There’s a lot of mumbo-jumbo and over-mystification in this area. Real People have worked with managers at all levels to get results such as ‘94% of our own staff agree that their manager empowers them’. We believe that everyone can be a great leader if they understand what it really means and the things they can do on a daily basis to inspire staff to get behind a compelling vision and achieve challenging goals.
This one-day workshop is complementary to the ‘hard’ tools and techniques of people management taught in several of our other courses. Alternatively, it stands alone as an inspiring introduction to what needs to be done to get your people 100 per cent behind you.
Learning objectives
The one-day Engaging Leadership workshop uses a range of self-reflective, groupwork and practical exercises to enable participants to identify their current strengths and development areas as a leader. The day finishes with focused personal action planning to enable the achievement of tangible changes to your own personal style to make you a more inspiring and engaging leader.
By the end of the workshop delegates will:
• Understand the meaning and impact of employee engagement and empowerment and how to get it.
• Appreciate the differences between leadership and management, and how to use the complementary nature of both to inspire high levels of employee engagement.
• Reflect on what makes a ‘great leader’ and examine how different elements are demonstrated in your organisation.
• Be aware of their own preferred leadership style and be able to adjust this for different situations. Assess own level of emotional intelligence and be able to action-plan for improvements.
• Learn a range of practical tips to inspire staff commitment and innovation.
• Practice techniques for improving personal impact and selling a vision.
• Greatly improve on the feedback received from staff on your leadership capabilities.
