Managing Conflict
Conflict is a common occurrence in many workplaces, though managing it is something which many managers find difficult. Many people ignore it, overreact to it, or provoke it unnecessarily.
Our Managing Conflict training course is a practical and engaging one day programme designed to equip managers with the skills and awareness to positively and proactively manage conflict; facing up to it when necessary and handling it in such a way as to create constructive results.
The course also covers dealing with difficult colleagues and working relationships, readjusting perceptions and developing strategies accordingly.
Learning objectives
By the end of the training course delegates will be able to:
• Describe how and why conflict occurs and measures to avoid it
• Understand how conflict impacts on the workplace and how to deal with negative attitudes and atmospheres
• Describe and proactively prepare for and address the stages of conflict escalation
• Practically deal with all forms of conflict effectively, both informally and formally, using your organisations procedures, best practice and within the boundaries of employment law
• Understand and implement mediation techniques and skills
