Helen Giles, Managing Director

Helen graduated from Reading University with a First Class Honours degree in History. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
She has featured on HR Magazine’s Most Influential HR Practitioners annual list every year since it began. Helen is a former Personnel Today HR Director of the Year and was awarded an MBE in 2008.

Sarah Clark, Head of HR and Consultancy Services

Sarah worked as Broadway’s HR Manager and a Real People consultant for two years before being appointed to the new role of Head of HR and Consultancy Services in January 2010. 
Sarah is a Senior Consultant in Real People and has extensive experience of a wide range of HR work, including: employee relations, restructuring, TUPE, business planning and strategy, employee engagement and pay and reward.

Karen

Karen Austin, Real People Consultant

Karen has been with Broadway’s Real People for a total of 4 years. She has a First Class Honours degree in Business and HR Management and had broad experience in applying practical, engaging and business focused people solutions in each of her generalist HR and Learning and Development focused roles. Karen is a Member of the CIPD (Chartered MCIPD).

Luke Watkeys, Real People Consultant

Luke holds an MA in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD. With experience working in HR across both the private and public sectors, he is focused on working as a consultant and driving forward Real People’s aim to support organisations in getting the best from their people.

Chris Cornell, Real Skills Business Manager

Chris is a graduate of Sociology and Social Policy from Durham University. He has worked in the homelessness sector for almost ten years. He was Homeless Link’s Regional Manager for the East of England facilitating the Places for Change Programme before moving to Broadway. Chris is responsible for managing Real Skills, our specialist training arm for the supported housing sector.

Claire Druce, Training Administrator  

Claire Druce has over 20 years experience in HR roles in the public sector.
Roles include UK-wide recruitment, redeployment and redundancy support and employee relations casework.  Claire is an ILM Level 5 Accredited Coach and holds the Certificate of Personnel Practice (CPP).

Kate Wingrove, Training and Volunteer Coordinator

Kate works within Broadway's internal Training and Development team and works alongside both the Real People and Real Skills teams. Kate has a First Class Honours degree in English and History, an MA in Postcolonial Literary and Cultural Studies and Postgraduate Diploma in Activism and Social Change from the University of Leeds.

Joan Scott, Senior HR Advisor

Joan is a highly experienced HR professional who has worked in the homelessness sector since 1988, first for Housing Services Agency and then for Broadway. Over the past 17 years she has been responsible as a generalist for all aspects of HR services. Joan works alongside the Real People team and is one of our accredited Workplace Mediators (holding the Mediation Practioner's Certificate).

Julie Middleton, HR Advisor

Julie has 2:1 BA degree from the University of East Anglia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from London Metropolitan University.
She has Worked in various HR roles in the public and private sector and is a Graduate member of the CIPD. Julie is Certified in psychometric testing (Levels A & B) and is responsible for hosting test centres and advise on recruitment for Real People clients.

Debbie Pillar, HR and Recruitment Administrator

Debbie has been working for HR teams within the homelessness sector since graduating from university in 2008 and has been working for Broadway’s HR team since April 2010.    
Debbie is an Associate Member of the CIPD and is certified in Psychometric testing Level A. In 2011, Debbie was recognised for her hardwork and commitment to Broadway and was awarded Inspriational Colleague of the Year.
